The Dutch have a wonderful tradition which began many hundreds of years ago. When a baby was born they celebrated this joyous event with a Birth Plate commemorating the occasion. This unique gift is available in true delft made and decorated in the centuries old manner. The 7 3/4" plate is available in traditional blue and white, rose, or lovely polychrome and has a wall hanger attached.
Baby's name, the date, the weight, and the city and state are hand painted and re-fired. As an added touch the clock on the nursery wall is set to the exact time of birth (see upper left corner of picture above).
