container. It's survival probably stems from its unusual shape
and decoration.
This antique closely resembles the woodcut of NO-BODY on the
frontispiece of a play produced in 1606.

The Ribbons and Roses Jar is adapted from an 18th century
apothecary jar in the colonial williamsburg collection. the
original was made in holland, where the art of making "delft"
(as tin enamel earthenware is called, after the town of delft)
has thrived for four centuries. The tradition continues at the
Royal Goedwaagen factory, where this piece was made. "No. 10"
(very limited availability) was the apothecary's code for the
drug or the potion in the jar. Custom personalization is an
option within the ribbon cartouche for an additional charge of
